Early referral to a Reproductive Unit provides couples with the best opportunity to find the causes of their infertility. All couples who have been unsuccessful in achieving pregnancy after 12 months of unprotected intercourse should be referred to a specialist fertility centre for investigation. Early referral should be considered if there are other underlying factors. Ie. If the woman is over 34 years of age or there is a significant medical condition in the history of either partner.
To make an appointment to see one of our Reproductive Clinicians at MACC all that is required is a current referral from your General Practitioner, preferably with a validity of 12 months to ensure that it covers you for the entirety of your treatment.
